Active Life

Sarah has been pretty busy lately. Horseback riding, volleyball lessons, iron teen (workout at the YMCA) and clarinet lessons along with her normal school work. Her last lesson of volleyball was last week and they finished the program by playing a real game against another local team.

She also competed in the ACSI band and solo competition. She received a score of "Excellent" on her clarinet solo and her band received a "Superior" score. Great job!

A Spring, A Spring, A Marvelous Thing.....

It's been a busy week since our last update. Spring is here and we have been spending time on outdoor projects and enjoying the beautiful weather. Last weekend I did two projects; a new mailbox and a new bicycle storage system in the garage.

Yes, I must be brave to park my car underneath my Wal-Mart bike suspended by my Wal-Mart bicycle ceiling mount (But it's cool!).

Sarah got into the act yesterday when she asked if she could mow the lawn. Under Liz's guidance she mowed for her first time (we'll see if it's her last) but she did do a good job.

What a life! Elliott is enjoying the spring weather as well, but this is pretty much the extent of his day.

The Ohio States of America

Found this video of Emily when she was in preschool and learning the Pledge of Allegiance. A true Buckeye, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the Ohio States of America....". She came up with that all on her own.

Proud Athlete

Last night we went to the athletic awards banquet at Cypress Christian School where Sarah was a member of the Cross Country team. It was her first year competing in cross country and she did very well, although she would probably rather run shorter "track" races where she can use her speed and long strides. They gave four individual awards to the team for most improved, best effort, leadership and the one Sarah won, Most Christ-Like. I couldn't have been more proud as Liz and I had no idea ahead of time that she was receiving it. She and Emily both have a great hearts for God and it was great to hear that others have seen the same in her.
Way to go Sarah.
We love you, Mom, Dad & Emily

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Sarah lost about three pounds and 12 inches today, all off of her head! She donated "some" of her hair to Locks of Love (http://www.locksoflove.org/).

Last chance.......

Strummer Drummer or Drummer Strummer

For Easter Liz bought me Guitar Hero III for the PS2. It was half price and sold as refurbished. I found out why when I tried to play it the first time and it had a bad button. I ordered a replacement button online for $3.00, soldered it in and it is as good as "refurbished". Today Sarah and I went to the used video game store and bought another guitar so we could play together. We spent the afternoon in the basement jammin! I think Liz likes it so much that she is planning on getting us an XBOX360 and Rock Band video game for Christmas! Watch for my blog update on Dec. 26th to find out.
