It's finally complete. Painted, dried and ready to use.

Final tally is approximately $265 in new tools and materials and 20 hours (best guess).

Almost done.

The table is almost done. All I have left to do is to paint or stain the top frame. This weekend I cut the tiles for the edges (sorry no pictures) and the blade got real dull with just a few tiles left so I had to run to Home Depot again to buy another. I also picked up some extra adheasive while I was there to avoid a potential 2nd trip, good thing I did since I ended up using it. Once the teadious job of measuring and cutting the tiles was done I was ready to glue them in.

Once that was done and dried overnight I was able to grout then fill in the nail holes with wood putty and sand. Here is where it is now, waiting for paint.

Ouch!!??

Last night Sarah had her birthday party/sleepover. It was me, Liz and 10 girls (including Emily and her friend). They started with a scavenger hunt at the mall and Sarah's surprise from her best friend, pierced ears. Enjoy the video below of the piercing. I don't think it was what she had expected :)

School's Out for Summer! (almost)

It's that last few weeks of school which means band concerts, musicals and field trips. It also meant a bout of Mother's Day pneumonia for Liz :( We are praying she is back up on her feet in time for Sarah's birthday party this Friday.

Last Tuesday was Emily's school musical "Sermon on the Mound"

Emily & good friend Megan

Can you see her?
Hint: Back row, blue hat. (click to enlarge)

Friday Sarah's class took a field trip to Kings Island. Liz chaperoned and got pneumonia.

Happy 12th Birthday Sarah!!

Unfortunately I lost (don't know how to use my cell phone) the picture of Sarah I took while at Shi Chi's Japanese Steak House for dinner. We all enjoyed our Hibachi chicken, yum!

Active Life

Sarah has been pretty busy lately. Horseback riding, volleyball lessons, iron teen (workout at the YMCA) and clarinet lessons along with her normal school work. Her last lesson of volleyball was last week and they finished the program by playing a real game against another local team.

She also competed in the ACSI band and solo competition. She received a score of "Excellent" on her clarinet solo and her band received a "Superior" score. Great job!

A Spring, A Spring, A Marvelous Thing.....

It's been a busy week since our last update. Spring is here and we have been spending time on outdoor projects and enjoying the beautiful weather. Last weekend I did two projects; a new mailbox and a new bicycle storage system in the garage.

Yes, I must be brave to park my car underneath my Wal-Mart bike suspended by my Wal-Mart bicycle ceiling mount (But it's cool!).

Sarah got into the act yesterday when she asked if she could mow the lawn. Under Liz's guidance she mowed for her first time (we'll see if it's her last) but she did do a good job.

What a life! Elliott is enjoying the spring weather as well, but this is pretty much the extent of his day.
